The Japanese Company “Arkray” launches a socially significant factory in the innovational SEZ Dubna

16 July 2013
In the SEZ Dubna, Arkray will develop and manufacture portable blood glucose meters and related consumable materials. Personal models - Sigma and Sigma-Mini - will have an affordable price and high quality.

The enterprise of Arkray will perform an import-substituting function, i.e. within 5 years it is going to occupy more than 10% of the Russian market of glucose meters & consumable materials, which is presently filled with imports.

Mikhail Trushko, CEO of RUSSEZ:

"The demand for glucose meters in Russia is constantly growing. This is fueled by disappointing dynamics of the growing number of diabetics. According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, in 2000 we had 163 thousand new cases of diabetes, but by 2012 - already 319 thousands newly diagnosed people. RUSSEZ in a partnership with one of the leading Japanese manufacturer of medical equipment starts active work on this socially important market. We’re eager not only to attract technologies, but make them work for the betterment of people`s daily living. In that case, we mean the people, who suffer from the serious disease. We are succeeding. And mostly thanks to will-directed efforts of RUSSEZ to create unique investment environment in SEZ and make the realization of projects such as the one of Arkray possible.”

Arkray in the SEZ Dubna is the only Russian producer of glucose meters that uses Japanese technologies for fabricating products of affordable price and perfect quality. For Arkray the manufacture in the SEZ Dubna is the first enterprise in Russia and for Russia. It is the first scientific & industrial foreign base specialized in such demanded by the patients segment of medical instrumentation.
