Overview

The Gate of Baikal Tourism & Recreation Zone was created in Irkutsk Region pursuant to the Russian Government’s Resolution No. 72 dated February 3, 2007.

The zone occupies 756 hectares.

Incentives And Preferences

Resident investors enjoy the following tax reliefs:

  • 0% road tax
  • Reduced corporate tax rate (15.5% for residents)

The duration of the tax holidays granted by regional authorities is five to ten years.

Residents are guaranteed against any changes in the tax treatment for as long as the zone exists.

Zone Development Plans

The resort is designed to comprise several centres whose architecture will be integrated harmonically into the surrounding landscape.

The Adventure Village will be one of such centres. With its small hotels, it will be suited for those who prefer active outdoor recreation such as horse riding or dog sledding.

The Sports Village will include a swimming pool with Baikal water equipped with a sliding roof, several playing grounds for summer sports, mountain bike rental store, and a roofed winter sports centre for the winter.

There will be an authentic yurt village at the entrance to the Zone. It will feature an ethnographic museum describing the culture, history, and traditions of the native peoples, and souvenir shops.

The Zone will also have a marina for yachts and motor boats.
